Artist History
Brothers, Alex and Eddie, are originally from the West Coast of Scotland, they are now based in Liverpool England.
In the last four years they have appeared as the best Instrumental/Vocal Harmony Duo on 3 Variety Command Shows in Merseyside and Lancashire.
In 2000, Liverpool FC, PA Announcer George Sephton heard their song "The Banks of the Mersey" and asked if they would record the Liverpool FC song "Scouser Tommy". This CD was sold "exclusively" in the Club shops and even though it contained only the one actual football song (all the other tracks on the CD were written by the lads and their manager) it was very popular and sold out four times.
In 2002, George asked them if they could record another Liverpool FC song and they proceeded to record "The Fields of Anfield Rd". George began playing it at every home game from March 2002. This song became so popular with the Fans that they were asked to record an "official" Liverpool FC album called "The Songs of Anfield Rd". It went on sale on 21st Dec 2002 and was sold out in both of the Club shops by 24th Dec 2002.
"The Fields of Anfield Rd is still played at every home game and was actually played at the Cup Final in Cardiff just as the players came out of the tunnel after half-time. The CD is now back in stock, however as before, it is "exclusive" to Liverpool FC and can only be obtained viz a viz "Official" Liverpool FC retail outlets.
As "Celtic Freedom" Alec and Eddie have been playing trad Irish and Celtic Songs at various venues in Liverpool City Centre for nearly four years (especially "The Liffey" in Renshaw St and Flanagans Apple in Matthew St.) however they do perform other types of music at various other venues in and around Liverpool.
During 2002-2003 they have also been recording an album of Glasgow Celtic FC songs and hope that this album will become just as popular with fellow Celtic Fans as their current album is with the Liverpool Fans. They will be performing and singing these Celtic Songs at "The Liffey" from 05.00pm -07.00pm before the game at Anfield and again from 10.30pm - 1230am after the game.
According to the Stats of Mp3.com their songs have had over 860,.500 unique (ie multiple plays from the same source with in a 24 hr period is only recorded as one play) plays on them.
In the past two years many of their songs reached the top twenty in the world charts. (Their song "Hey Boy! Thats Life" reached No1 in the World Country/Western Swing Charts and their songs "Homeless" and "Extermination" both reached the top five in their respective Genre World Charts) |
