Artist description DINER features LOVELINK and a great variety of r & b songs. These recordings were done in what was later affectionately referred to as the " DINER". They were almost all first takes from a repertory group of singers and players as many as twelve rotating through the years who got down with it in a party atmosphere. A soul/ R&B version of the ARCSOUNDS in ROCK (www.MP3.com/ARCSOUNDS). Loose jamming sessions, where the only framework was written lyrics and a melody. The song and arrangement were discussed at length for the purpose of setting the mood. Sometimes on the patio overlooking the moonlit ocean listening to the crashing waves; in this peace and solitude they focused on the surreal lyrics and the inner feelings of the city, its peoples and all the diners everywhere.Some takes were confined to the singer and a special piano to focus on the vocal first take such as the dramatic longing lyrics of "WHAT DO I DO NOW". There was a conscious effort to avoid the standard AABA song format with the obligatory "HOOK" so that the lyrics could be as free form as possible.
