Artist description
Being a late-starter in music world, Johannes has since ventured on his own to create a music so different from others through sensitivity and feelings. Often, the musics he composed touch hearts of many around him; some with joy, some with sorrows. Johannes was not good at interacting with words and most of the time when all he needs to express himself, was through exposing his thoughts to his piano and let his fingers do all the talking. His music is plain and simple, however relaxing and easy-listening. |

Artist History
In 1992, when Johannes was 17, his aunt moved a piano from her residence to his apartment. Only then, he got the first real touch of the surface of the piano. Johannes opened the lid and started to press a key and then another one. Feeling amused, he began to make some 'noise' through that newly moved-in piano. The following year, Johannes began to play simple one-hand songs in which he could only memorised them by heart. He was not able to read a single of musical notes, not mentioning playing the notes from the scores. However, music had touch him so greatly, that he would spend at least two hours a day sitting at the piano, making some experimental 'noise'. Johannes' relatives staying with him began to take notice of his gift, and encouraged him to take up piano lessons. He did, but only for 4 times lessons as he has no interest in theories, but insists that he would play the piano by his own instincts and feelings. A few years gone by and Johannes has since improved his style of play tremendeously, composing several songs, mainly dedicated to his loved ones. He did not record all his compositions into score-books (all played through memories), hence, some of the compositions made were forgotten in time. Until recently when mp3 revolved in internet, he took chance to make a new wave of music and input them in the computer which later uploaded into the internet. The rest of it will only have to wait for the BEST out of him to come...... |

Press Reviews
"I was most impressed by Johannes' performance of June 16. He demonstrated great power, imagination and a rhythm full of life and soulfulness, all the elements indispensable for an interpreter of any musician lived."John Thekeis, California 1998 "I have at last had a chance to listen to your two songs - 16 June and The Day When You Are Not Around … Let me say at once that I find your playing extremely thoughtful and sensitive. I was quite amazed that you are a composer even without any core knowledge of reading from notes and writing a proper scores. Your compositions such a comparatively small scale piece but full life of zest of lives. Altogether, I think it is a wonderful achievement that you have recorded these works." Raymond, Singapore 1999. |
