Artist description
The seed that sprouted into FRAGILE MALE EGO (FME) was planted backin North Carolina when drunken theatre school buddies, BRAD THOMASand RANDY SOARE improvised songs with one acoustic guitar and a taperecorder. This creativity was the only highlight in their otherwiseunbearable lives. After barely graduating Randy moved to NYC while Brad ended up inToronto, where he happened into ERIC CHERCOVER, FME‚s lead guitarist, however neither knew it at the time.Well it was either fate, destiny, kismet or panic that pulled Brad toNYC 6 years ago. Once there, he and Randy, on rooftops with beer andguitars, began escaping from life once again. They gradually felt an inner burn that was not cirrhosis of the liver. They were being called to perform this stuff in front of an audience...Lady Luck bowed her head when Eric (Canadian guy...lead guitar) calledBrad in February, Œ99 and was living in NYC, ready to jam.Synchronicity demanded they up their stakes and the trio tuned up forthe road ahead.Out of the blues, JOHN SCHNEIDER, drummer, offered to accompany Bradin August, Œ99 at an acoustic, solo gig. They had never rehearsed butsomehow the gig worked. It seemed the universe arranged this meetingso John stepped on board as well.In November, Œ99, Brad stumbled into SCOTT CLEVELAND, bassist, in abar. They introduced themselves and Scott agreed to play a gig thefollowing week (he‚d only have to learn 11 songs before then).Since then this kharmic concoction has played all-original tunes thatare sometimes shocking, mostly funny, nearly always autobiographical, and totally rocking. |
