The group formed in August 1999 mainly influenced by bands such as The Deftones, Devin Townsend, Insane Clown Posse, Silverchair and Type O Negative. Wilberforce combines the talents of Tara Lewis (vocals/bass guitar), Tim McMillan (guitar) and Nick Kostarakis (percussion). The style combines elodic vocals with a heavier feel than many alternative groups.
