Even the most dedicated hip-hoppers and rap fans are tired of the excess/surplus. So to protect themselves against burnout, they classify everything… As an mc/dj-duo, we have to fight this classification stuff. Hell yes, we're a southern hip-hop group with an undeniably dope rapper and a tight turntablist/producer. That's a fair classification. Now, can you assume anything about our music without hearing and seeing us? Nope. Especially because we're still crafting this soundscape, and we don't know what we're gonna create from here. "I'ma redraw what you know so far…" (from Soundscape, "Die in Your Sleep") So with all the generic and homogenous acts out there, it's gonna be tough to achieve longevity. You can come out with a record, and people think they know your sound or your style instantly. The moral of this intro is: don't waste time trying to figure us out, because we haven't done that yet and don't plan to. We're gonna keep creating new sounds to communicate numerous ideas and spawn different types of activity. Rest assured that we don't have some little idea box we're afraid to step outside of, and by the time we've released half a dozen jams, you won't know what's coming next.
