Artist description
German pianist Sandhan Westphal's musical background is
characterised by a merging of Eastern and European styles.
Sandhan first began performing music at age fifteen as part of
a rock group. His formal musical studies in Graz, Austria were
followed by period of time where he performed avant-garde Jazz with a number of bands.
In the early eighties, he travelled to India where he stayed for several years and got
acquainted with Indian music and culture. Most recently, a prime source of inspiration for
him has been his association with New Zealand mystic, Mikaire.
Over the years, his collective musical and spiritual experiences have helped add a new
dimension of power and depth to his sound and enabled him to create his own distinct flavour.

Press Reviews
Times of India :
'Sandhan' by German pianist Sandhan Westphal is an album on which he renders
melodies with an Indian flavour on the piano.
The result of his many years of musical adventure and experience in India, it is comprised of eight soulful, immensely expressive
and emotional tracks designed to create a relaxing effect on the listener and to help ease
the pressures, we as individuals face in today's highly competitive and stressful times.
