Artist description
The sound is diverse, yet distinctly Platonic. From sparse and atmospheric ballads which bleed emotion through to raw, edgy, angst driven walls of noise, Platonic have crafted a unique and powerful identity which retains the sensibilities and accessibility of commercial pop/rock. |

Press Reviews
“One of the best Australian albums created this year.” … awe-inspiring production … This is one of the most talented artists to come out of Australia … “001 - 013” contains the kind of music that takes you on a journey. Music that imprints itself in your mind so deeply that it’s still playing on your thoughts long after you’ve stopped consciously thinking about it.
Sarah Ortenzio. Beat Magazine - Interview (18/6/02).
“Beautifully constructed musical soundscapes”. Inpress – Review.
A soundtrack for a world that is being born again ... The beats are mostly slow and subtle, like the beating of a heart pulse. Imagine outback Australia on a rainy day as you cross between the sounds of Midnight Oil, The Cure, and Nine Inch Nails ... The production values are superbly textured, 001 - 013 sits somewhere in between Radiohead's “Kid A” and Vast's “Music For People”, a risky and ambitious venture that should pay off.
Forte – Interview & Review (3/7/02)
There is a smorgasbord of sounds here … the record’s highlight comes in early. “To Be With You" is a gentle ballad and very U2 in style. Keira takes lead vocal on this one but captures the same tenderness as Bono on a song like "Stuck In A Moment" or "One" … there is a consistency than runs right throughout this album … Radiohead fans would be advised to check it out.
Hector the Rock Dog. Undercover - Review (24/6/02).
