Artist description M*K*M has never been primarily about performing live and being rock stars. But it has always been about the love of music. Writing, arranging, recording and producing songs together, as well as a mutual respect for each other's talent, has been the glue that has kept the three musicians coming back to work with each other over the years.The band as it now exists had its' beginnings in 1974 in Ottawa, Canada. That year, Ian Mcleish was introduced to Chuck Kerr by a mutual friend. Ian had worked as a solo performer and as part of garage and folk-rock groups, but now he was working in his home studio, writing songs and trying to produce demo tapes. Although he was proficient on bass, guitar and keyboards, he needed a drummer.Chuck had many years experience playing drums and percussion in big band jazz groups, orchestras, military bands and eventually rock bands.

Artist History John Millest, Chuck Kerr & Ian McLeish have been making music together off and on for 20 years. As M*K*M, we started in the mid-nineties, shut down for a couple of years, and got together again in the summer of 1999 o finish an album that we had been forced to abandon because of equipment and personal setbacks.
