Artist description
I am a solo artist. I perform traditional Irish and English music, and I also write my own songs. My own songs have a Celtic folk quality to them, in the tradition of a ballad telling a story.I sing, play gutar, 5 string banjo, and recorder. At a music industry event held in Los Angeles a few years ago, The Master of Ceremonies described me singing as "The voice of an angel". |

Artist History
I started performing in 1975 at the San Francisco Renaissance Faire, and a few years later moved to Connecticut and teamed up with a traditional Irish fiddle player named Paddy Reynolds. We played at an Irish pub in Washington D.C. called Kelley's Irish Times for several months in 1979.We later played in Irish pubs in the New York and Connecticut area, and in 1992 we played in a festival in Port Townsend, Washington State, called "Fiddle Tunes" put on by Centrum. Currently, I perform as a singer/ songwriter at various coffee houses, including Starbucks, and Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Norwalk Connecticut.I recently released a cd called "Once Upon a Winter Day" which can be sampled at www.cdbaby.com/louisebarnes. |
