Artist History
"Famlitiez: Blood Is Thicker" or “The Tize” was formed in early 1998, back then we were called "The Conquest Execs." The group was a duo, ENP & Hatch Dogg. Our first CD had people nodding there heads and giving the thumbs up signal, but we didn't blow people's minds. In late 1998, an extremely angry ENP decided to replace a few songs on the Conquest Execs CD. Also ENP did a few songs with is Brother Mr. Leach and just incorporated him into the group. Mr. Leach changed the name of the group to Famlitize (later it was changed to the current name). ENP & Hatch went in to the studio in Owensboro, KY and finished up the recording of 7 tracks and made up a new track on the spot called "Violent Dreams." They thought that they had stepped out with an okay effort… “It was solid.” Later that day, rollin’ with the click, Hatch threw in the studio CD (after frustratingly skip around Snoop’s first “No Limit” release). After the first track played, without much fanfare while the track was playing, the driver went to remove the CD saying “that track was tight as @#*!.” The rest of click was like, “naw man, throw that back in there.” Back in Cali, cats were shocked a the quality of the music, saying things like: “Yo, I be bumping ya’ll CD!” “Man, that ish be bumpin!” “I play the hell out that there!” In the summer of 1999, the group set out to sell 50 CDs in a small Kentucky town called Beaver Dam (that’s right). They made 60 just in case. One the first day, they sold one. People had there doubts, plus “Cash Money” was the click in that city. But this is a very, very small town. That one copy be bumped, combined with persistent sales technique of Mr. Leach and word of mouth was enough to blow sales up to 37 sold on day two, and the rest sold on day three. At that point people where coming in from out town, surprised by the sound, paying up to $30 to get a copy (the original selling price was $10) from someone who already had it. Currently The Tize have vinyl pressed up and will be dropping the single Cheap Motel in Louisville, Ky & Sacramento, CA very soon. |
