Artist History
Sigma6 has been around for two years now. We originally started as a solo, but wanted to play live shows. After numerous lineup changes, we have settled solidly with our current collective. We have played Ogden/Morgan and Salt Lake. We've played bars and clubs, and small venues, and have even opened for the European goth band Attrition. Watch for us as we continue to grow and play. Our Cd is also available in local independant CD stores. |

Press Reviews
If there was just one word to describe Sigma 6, it would have to be"refined." With an impressive range of mellow guitar to up-beat drums, their sound can be likened to that of Tool's, but without compromisinginnovation along the way. The lyrics are full of atmosphere and conveyemotion with great facility and steadfast attitude. Each song, masterfullyarranged, can hold its own against any big-budget professional studiorecording; a feat not to be scoffed at, especially when taking intoconsideration that this is the debut release by Sigma 6. An album wellworth listening to, Sigma 6 explores many facets of heavy, industrial andalternative music, while remaining fresh with its genre defying blend ofnon-abrasive vocals and brooding ambience. Give it a try!-George . www.xmission.com/~maddox**************Standing alone in an over saturated punk rock scene, Sigma6 is making waves in the Great Salt Lake. Sigma6, a Goth/Industrial band from Ogden Utah, got its start back in the fall of 1999. The band, then a solo project of Matt Johnson, soon took on a new shape as live shows became imminent. Soon after a few transitions, the band has settled down for the moment with Matt on guitar and vocals, Ron Strong on keyboards, Ian Costley 20 Drums and Jason Costley rouding out the rythm section, playing bass. After playing the Ogden scene for over a year the band hopes to break out into other markets as well. "With a scene as volitile as the Salt Lake scene, there isn't much room for bands that arent punk. That is why we are are hoping to break out of the scene and possibly tour."With the diversity of their songs, you can go from the angst of heavy to the calm of soft, and feel all emotions in between. The disc Structured Chaos really shines as Johnsons vocals sooth you to a point, and then comes back and lashes out with pain. With lyrics like I am your god, I am you r savior, I am your everything, the band dares to stand against the whole of the local society and make a voice for themselves. If you are to listen to one independant cd, make sure that it is Sigma6, and be prepared for music that isnt of the norm. Get ready for the raw emotion of todays youth.Morgan .. Www.slamusic.com |
