Artist description
Boston’s own God Fearing Man provides an unmistakable brand of catchy, up-tempo guitar pop/rock driven by tightly blended harmonies, which is original, yet pleasingly memorable. Introspective, cathartic lyrics combined with infectious lead vocal melodies shared by Aden Mott, Pongo and Marc Sherman on different songs create a striking variety within the unique medley of acoustic and electric guitars, coupled with Rob Nemetz’s groovular bass and a hard hitting drum cadence - This is GFM’s sound. |

Artist History
When legendary producer/engineer Eddie Kramer exclaimed that he would “put this CD into his A-list to want to hear more,” of GFM’s debut album; it really struck a chord that they might be on to something good. The NEMO 2002 performers would feel this positive vibe resonating throughout the year. Favorable reviews and press would ensue leading to a cover story in the February 2002 of Boston’s Metronome magazine. Reviewer Doug Sloan insists, “Any one of these tunes could be a hit. OUTSTANDING!” Similar echoes could be heard from a variety of publications such as Soundcheck, Patriot Ledger and The Phoenix, which proclaimed “Perhaps the sleeper CD of the year is by God Fearing Man.” God Fearing Man was pleased to have also been voted band of the month on Bostonbands.com.
As a four-piece rock band out of Boston, God Fearing Man has performed 100+ dates in Boston, Cape Cod, Providence and points around New England, supporting their debut release. Performance highlights include gigs at this year’s Freedom Rally after-party and Pride Day 2002 on Boston Common, warming up the crowd for Sophie B. Hawkins. GFM has received radio airplay, in-studio hosting/interviews, live in-studio performances and even a broadcast of “Where I Stand” live from the Station in Warwick, RI. GFM has placed well in WKPE’s Rockslide on the Cape and place 4th out of 25 finalists in the Providence’s Big Noise Song Slam at the Century Lounge – TWICE!
After a busy year, GFM has hit the studio and released their 4-song EP entitled “Terra Incognita.” Somewhat of a shift from the more acoustic sounding predecessor, the new songs are more edgy, with noticeable increase in distorted guitars as well as the rejuvenating added voicing of new vocalist Aden Mott. With the recent events going on in the world these days, “intervention is delayed when God is afraid,” describes the philosophy behind GFM’s name and lyrical direction this time around.
