    Artist description
Fancy Prairie is not a folk album. It would be easy to categorize Eva Hunter as a folk singer/songwriter, however, since she has been performing throughout the Midwest with only her guitar to accompany her voice. Though acoustic guitar does appear prominently throughout the album, Hunter's new CD "Fancy Prairie" is not easy to categorize due to the array of musical sounds used from song to song. Understandably, the completion of the album is quite a relief for Eva. "Now everyone can hear what I've been hearing all along. It's exciting that the category people seem to put my music in may now change."

    Group Members
    • JEFF GREENEBERG, singer-songwriter-producer and drummer from Bloomington IL, laid the percussive foundation in his basement project studio, known as "The Beach". • PERRY ZUBECK, best known as the keyboardist for Springfield IL's Cats On Holiday and producer of several solo projects, supplied various keyboard sounds to ten songs and added a few percussion parts for good measure. • SCOTNEY EVANS, bassist for Nashville's The Floating Men, contributed bass tracks to ten of the twelve tunes. • ANDON TED DAVIS is another former Cats On Holiday member enhancing Fancy Prairie. Andon, now based in Chicago, has been touring for several years with Anna Fermin's Trigger Gospel. • CHRIS CAMP added accordion tracks to five songs. Chris regularly performs with the popular Springfield IL group Mr. Opperknockity. • BOB "COWBOY" BERNING added the firey guitar solo to Why Try. He is best known for his burning performances with his band, Suns Of Circumstance, another well-known Springfield act. • JEFF CUNNINGHAM, also of Springfield IL, added bowed upright and electric fretless bass parts on the song Free To Leave. • GINA HUNTER DeBESSA & CASSANDRA HUNTER are two of Eva's three sisters who added backup vocals. The foursome where known as the Hunter Sisters when they toured llinois during the 80's as a fifties/sixties girl group, giving Eva her musical start.

First time listeners are always surprised at the presence and intensity Eva displays on stage. Combining a unique style of writing that doesn't always follow popular song structure and a rollercoaster ride of dynamics has enabled Eva to mesmerize her audiences, whether they be at an all-ages coffee house or at a tough night club.
