Artist description VibeWise is the hard-hitting reggae group from Boston. The emotive lyrics are spiritual praise to His Most High, and down to earth at the same time, encompassing all subjects. Life is a gift, and music should always aim to refresh, remind, enlighten, and take the listener on a journey. The message is inclusive to audiences from diverse ethnic backgrounds and ages, seeking to bring the vibe to everyone. Perhaps VibeWise's universal appeal is due to the band's own eclectic blend of musicians. The group is fronted by two vocalists. Ajiny is from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. His style blends English with Haitian Creole into melodic anthems of Rasta, struggle, and hope. King I hails from Trinidad, blending the hard-edge chat/rap style of dance hall poetry with catchy singable refrains. Donny Jones on keyboards has been performing in the Boston music scene for 10 years, playing in different projects ranging from reggae/ska, funk, Haitian and African music. Zachary Monroe provides the lead guitar flavor armed with wah-wah peddle and echo, and Zach Youngberg lays down heavy bass that sets of car alarms miles away. Drummie [on drums] provides the solid riddim foundation and is the newest entry into the band. A crucial backbone of the band, they combine a background of reggae, samba, blues, and hip-hop to VibeWise's sound. VibeWise has been the band to see in Boston for the last year. Artist History This six-piece band erupted on to the local music scene in April 1998. With their two mystical singers and their modern, tight, pure reggae sound, VibeWise has received praise for their invorigorating and authentic music. The band's large and avid following is rapidly increasing to a multitude, allowing them to sell out clubs from the House of Blues to Middle East Downstairs to the Paradise. VibeWise has succeeded in breaking down the barriers that have recently excluded reggae from massive appeal in America.
