    Artist History
Orange Eye is the psychedelic, hard swagger, sultry rock trio from New Orleans, Louisiana. John Foran plays guitar. Erik Corriveaux sings and plays bass. Larry Glover is the drummer.Formed in September of 1999, the band quickly became the darlings against the traditional sound of “New Orleans Rock”. In January of 2000, Orange Eye released the debut EP entitled “Bent Over Velvet”. Sessions were held at American Sector Recording Studios over a span of 9 days. The EP was produced and engineered by Kai Schoorman and Orange Eye. The band has an electrifying and commanding emphasis on live performance. Influences and concepts are drawn from the likes of The Birthday Party, Jeff Buckley, Roxy Music, Wire, and The Jesus Lizard. Orange Eye toured the East Coast October through December of 2000 and will be on tour in the Spring of 2001. CMJ New Music Magazine acknowledged Orange Eye in their January 2001 issue as one of the best local rock bands. Orange Eye was also nominated as “Best Emerging Rock Band” in New Orleans by Offbeat Magazine. For a current list of dates, please visit http://www.orangeeye.net

"delightfully listenable debut EP from that most undervalued of New Orleans' musical species, the unabashed Rock band." "Bent Over Velvet is a dexterous, tightly-wound, unabashedly catchy five song romp that boasts and impressive wall of sound for a three-man band. Orange Eye boasts three talented musicians who know their way around big, beutiful hooks, serpentine rythems, and dramatically raucous amplification. There is a repentantly melodic sensibility at work beneath the arrangement of this deftly produced offering. All five songs are sleek and well-crafted anthems that could each stand alone (no small feat for a debut). Orange Eye are not barroom charlatans, swamp rock, nor are they retro. They leave alterna-pablum to rot in favor of big (but not dumb) undiluted rock and roll. Their music occupies a precise landscape of sex, drugs, and glam rock." by Brandi Morris (Where T'AT Magazine)
