Artist History Petronella formed in 1996 and started gigging around their hometown of Sligo.Back then as with most new bands the set was mainly covers. But even at this early age they stood out above other bands at the time mainly thanks to their highly talented, energetic front man Tabby. It wasn't long before a reputationwas built and their following began to increase. In February 1998, However theirdrummer at the time David Irwin tragically died. Petronella continued with their new drummer for a few months and things started to look good but musicaldifferences with the new drummer brought that era to an end. Then in June ofthat same year Gordon Chrystal became the drummer we Know today and fromthen Petronella have gone from strength to strength, with gigs around thecountry in numerous venues, including Dublin, Belfast and Cork and a breathtaking performance in Galway's "The Rosin Dubh".
