Artist History Opterasis is a black metal outfit, now comprised of three members, from central massachusetts that formed in the fall of 1999. The current lineup consists of Mark Erickson on keyboards and guitars, Eric Watts on drums, and Keith Tuttle on vocals. Former members of the band include Jay Potvin on guitar, Dan Haynes on guitar, Colin Haynes on bass, and Jon Walker on vocals. Originally, Eric, Jay, and Colin played together in another band, Last Day Of April. Eventuallty this band broke up, and Eric and Colin started this band with Colin's brother Dan on guitar, Mark Erickson on keyboards, and Jon Walker on Vocals. After a search for another guitar player turned up with Jay Potvin, and Keith Tuttle replaced Jon on Vocals, the band started writing material. Opterasis recorded with Matt Marcel in March of 2000 to put forth a demo. Upon the passing of many full-moons after the recording, Opterasis went on to battle alongside many other bands including Dungeonbat. Shortly after this (in september of 2000), the traitorious lot of Jason, Colin and Dan left the band citing creative differences. Almost instantaneously, our call to battle was heard by two kindred souls of black, Ian Currier and Scott Waldie, on guitar and bass respectively. Now we are almost set to begin our war against our ancient foes, as soon as we find a new keyboardist. Our new material should prove to be much more brutal than the older material due to the change in members. We will keep you posted on our new members, and put up bios for them soon.
