Artist description
Guitars, bass, and drums. Stringed instruments utilize boomerang technology (or not) for expanded texturization. Drummer uses various percussives with tangential rhythmic theories. Best experienced live. Improv-driven instrumental exploration/experimentation creates one-of-a-kind sets. Urban guerilla-type grooves with canyonic tonal dimensions. Heavily inspired by Clint Eastwood's, "the Man With No Name", Bruce Lee, Muhammed Ali, and all things formidable and bad-ass, musical and otherwise. |
|
Music Style
Improvcore! Emphasis on groove with touches of jazz, funk, ambient, blues, and breakbeat. |
|
Musical Influences
Fusion-era Miles Davis, 70's funk, and bad-ass groove type stuff. |

We sorta sound like fusion-era Miles in a trio setting and w/o a trumpet player... sorta. |

Artist History
Got together in Nov.'99 and have been at it ever since. Mike Sydloski and Rick Moe have known each other since early '90's, playing in various local bands together and apart. Mike met John Pollard in a doomed jazz project. Rick and Mike needed a bass player. John volunteered and joined the band pretty much immediately. Rick's friend Merritt, and co-musical conspirator of Rick and Mike's, has jammed at times with Looseleaf (since before the beginning, really) and is now a full-fledged member. John has since left the band and we are now hiring out able bass playas. Email heylooseleaf@cs.com if interested. Serious inquiries only. Really. |

Press Reviews
We've recently been described as "modern day instro-prog", and Jason at KXCI says that "word on the street is that we're that 'Improv Band'." We think you should listen and decide for yourself. |
