Artist description
ADAM WHALEY is the lead singer and songwriter for the Austin TX band, The Morrows (www.themorrows.com). He recently won the grand prize in a prestigious songwriting contest co-sponsored by Virgin Entertainment’s www.VirginJamcast.com and www.TheOrchard.com. Virgin’s Digital Duel 2000 contest collected work from artists all over the country and selected The Morrows song “Deep Blue Soul” as the best song based on songwriting, performance, musicianship, and overall marketability. As a result of the contest, The Morrows will be heavily promoted on both the www.virginjamcast.com website and www.theorchard.com website starting June 20, 2000. As a solo artist, Adam’s ambition is to pursue a career as a recording artist, songwriter, and producer, making music that breaks out of the “club music” paradigm. As a multi-instrumentalist and singer, the songs he writes and plays alone are more personal and focused. His goal is to make sure that every song has a memorable melody, that brings the casual listener in and rewards the studied listener with a deep, clear meaning that transcends the typical pop ideal. |
