Artist History
Trip2go is an unsigned and all original band in the Tampa Bay area. They do shows all over Florida. The current lineup of Lisa Larkin(Vocals), Angus Barrs(Bass/Vocals), David Douglas(Drums/Percussion) and Stephan Rosser(guitars) has been writing and performing since 1999. Shortly after the departure of guitarist Dave "Ozzy" Ozimek, Lisa and Angus(with a little suggestion from Stephan's wife Michele) asked Stephan if he would be interested in auditioning. Having seen the band Live, Stephan could'nt resist the melodic, driving, pounding and sometimes entrancing music which was fronted by a girl that you just could'nt stop watching. What's she gonna do next? And her voice?! Emotionally sweet yet able to be harsh, instanly changing yet never leaving the music or song. Wow! The Bass? Well lets just say Angus has a huge following of others, not just for his bass abilities, but for his vocal style and songwriting ability. The drums were like driving rock with a heavy influence of Jazz.
Everything was so different and pleasing. Everyone had their own stylistic contributions! Something that Stephan quickly realized is a scarcity in this business. Well, it didn't take long for Stephan to make his decision, it was his chance to add his stylistic playing to an already established and polished act by grabbing their just released first CD "Focus" and then, whithin a week or so, he was meeting them onstage as a "guest appearance" on a few of the songs as Trip2go closed out a few final shows with the retiring Ozimek.
Not willing to stop after releasing their recently recorded disc, they immediately began rehearsing for more shows all the while re-learning Trip2go's new heavier, more experimetal sound which still carried their signature and definatively distinct sound which could be identified right away by Lisa and Angus' suprisingly acurate harmonies throughout. They then finished a couple of songs presentes by Angus and Lisa called Halfway and Understand all the while playing multiple shows. Everone in the band had mutual feelings understanding that their sometimes high energy and sometimes, lack of it, in the right places had given a more dynamic dimention to even their existing songs!
The band found time to write new material while bass player Angus Barrs assisted his friends Closure in completing their unfinished project which took about three months to complete.
Angus returned and Trip2go was back at work on material with more desire than ever to succeed. You can hear the first song writen by Trip2go's current lineup by downloading "WHY".
There are seven other songs on the page that have been written since as well as some previously recorded songs written by Angus and Lisa.
Now with more than 100 shows under their belts including shows with Kidd Rock, Godsmack, ThirdeyeBlind, Adema, Pink/Lenny Kravitz, Stone Temple Pilots, Rob Zombie, Puddle of Mudd, Earshot, Seether, Stone Sour, Rush and many others. Along with recording new material the band is also
proud of current accomplishments including movie soundtrack "The Hard Road", Everly Music and Dean Musical Instruments Endorsement deals, and about a half a dozen projects offered by clients of Tonos.com. With the help of local Clearchannel radio station WXTB 98rock, Trip2go has been able to play promotional shows with assistance from Miller Lite as well as Jagermeister and Jose Quervo. Things are looking up and with the help of our dedicated fans old and new, the possibilities are endless! |
