Artist History
Paul and Debbie met in 1985 in Alberta. Paul was from the east, Debbie from the west. They met in music college outside Paul's locker and began making beautiful music together. I was like two worlds colliding, two streams merging forming a powerful river of creative energy. Music, however, was not the only creative energy they possessed for 9 months after their wedding in 1987 they became the proud parents of TRIPLETS!! Somehow by God's amazing grace this very artsy creative couple were able to handle this incredible onslaught of human life into their home. The early years of raising babies taught Paul and Debbie the kind of lessons that normally take years to learn. Despite the hectic pace, their gifts in songwriting flourished. In 1994 on Paul's 30th birthday thier lives took a turn as they began taking risks in order to get some of this mountain of songs recorded. By late 1995 they had produced their first CD, recorded over a two month period in a church building out in a field somewhere in Alberta . Thus "Moments of Truth" was born. People were amazed and surprised when they heard this hard to describe sound. In 1998 they entered the commercial studio world and took the production to new level with "Sittin' in Heaven...Feet on the Ground". Studio players and excellent engineering made for wonderful folk/pop radio album. Lately their music has taken on a more Rock/Blues sound which will be heard soon on a short play CD entitled "More to Life" |

Press Reviews
ARIA AWARD NOMINEE FOR BEST POP/LITE ROCK ARTIST OF THE YEAR AND BEST NEW RECORDING ARTIST OF THE YEAR "Production values and songwriting are way up. Vocals were excellent. Guitars - very ambient! Impressed! Blessings!" - Arlen Salte - "Debbie and Paul offer a very clean folk sound fronted with great vocals and backed with solid musicianship"... "Sittin' in heaven is a classic AM Radio album"... "There are some lyrical gems here. " - Reviewed by -Todd Friesen- "Heralded at the Harvest Moon Festival as the most "artistic" and "skilled" musicians in the line up. In fact the artistic integrity of Paul and Debbie Seburn is their strength. Very few musicians compare with Paul's talent on guitar. Their stage presence was also excellent." -Michael Schnell- VP operations and Harvest Moon Co-ordinator "The production on Sittin' is excellent. Considering this album was produced with a typical indie album budget, Paul has pulled off a small miracle in creating a full sounding album. On a couple of songs you would swear the sound was three dimensional. There is no fuzz here either. We're talkin' crystal clear folks". - Murmur On-line E-Zine "Debbie's voice is easily as good as anyone in the Canadian Music Scene right now" -Bart Gurr- Mushroom Studios Vancouver B.C. "Because of the ease by which the Seburns can perform their music, they can play most anywhere. Is this then an opportunity to showcase God's love before audiences on both sides of the faith fence?" -Terry Hughs- Living Light News |
