Artist description
The LaLa has a laid-back, yet feel-good funky groove
that all kinds of people get into. We layer classic
New Orleans piano on top of heavy, swingin' funk.
Our music features vocals, horns, organ, and percussion. The band
reflects our love of all kinds of music and just plain
feeling good!

Artist History
After 2 years of touring with various jazz artists including Maynard Furgeson, and a year with alternative rock band Janet Speaks French, Mike Levy turned toward his original material. He and drummer April Koester (Angie, 11:11) officially formed the The LaLa. In 1998, the band released its first album "Big Easy Pieces". In 1999, the band released a live album recorded at The Cottonwood Club. The LaLa will release a new album in early fall containing pop songs heavily influenced by classic R&B and funk.
