Artist History The Heavy Woolies define a musical style known as "California Rock," a sound that balances a blend of classic and current sounds while still upholding an originality that is all their own. This balance strengthens the heavy Woolies appeal in the Top 40 and Adult Alternative formats, satisfying not only the teenage pop fanatics, but their finicky parents as well. Their natural talent for writing catchy, energetic, and meaningful songs is sure to draw heavy rotation in local Los Angeles radio markets such as KROQ, STAR 98.7, KISSFM, KCRW, and Channel 103.1. Already, The Heavy Woolies are a dominant force in the local music scene, having played to thousands of fans over the past three years at such reputable LA clubs as the Troubadour, The Whisky A-Go-Go, The Roxy, and Roxbury. Named Best Band in LA at Garagefest Battle of the Bands in 1997, The Heavy Woolies have appeared on television on "The LA Thing with John Doe," hosted by Janeane Garofalo, and were the featured band at AmFAR's charity Bar Hop, hosted by Donna D'Errico. With the national release of their debut compact disc "Sweet & Crunchy," The Heavy Woolies are preparing to bring their high energy, crowd pleasing live shows to the masses.
