Press Reviews
CMJ review: ...."Rain" is an excellent collection of rootsy guitar pop songs a la Stephen Stills and Neil Young. Besides Halliday's expressive vocals and acoustic guitar, outstanding musicianship comes from Joel Cage, who sharpened his guitar chops with Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and recently received a Grammy award nomination for his song "From The Farthesst Reaches". Norm Hartley adds drums and John Styuklunus plays bass, but cameos from the likes of Robin Lane, Ducky Carlisle, Aaron Lippert and Brother Cleve certainly add a lot of spice to heartfelt rockers like "Rain" and "Overnighter",...groovers like "Big Sky" and beautiful ballads like "Railway Song". Production skills from Mike Denneen ....give "Rain" added power. |
