Artist description
TakeWest is the music of Brian West and collaboration with other
songwriters, poets and artists. This includes his brother Kenneth Ray West and
artists such as Adie White (DJ80bug), Poets Nhan Le and Raven. The music is a mixture
of New Age, Blues, Pop/Rock and Experimental containing the sounds of many synths & guitar.

Artist History
Originated in Tupelo, MS, 12/96 with brothers - Brian & Ray West plus friend Nikkyle Wells, with first CD recorded at Lakeland Studios, James Simmons,Titled Red Sun. In 1997, Brian relocated to Mountain View, CA. Joining with poet Nhan Le, and vocalist 80 White. Previously Brian played keys for: Prizm, Tupelo, MS, YOW, Memphis, Shadow Cats, Monterey, Sci Fi, Okland, and Raven, The Silver Eagle Band, Tampa. Brian started performing as TakeWest again
in 1998 around the Bay Area playing mainly New Age and experimental music. Then in 2001 Brian put together a new group for the TakeWest project. This included many styles of music and artists. Some of the artists included Jewell Ausbon - Piano/ Vocals, Jamie Arrieta - Backing Vocals/ Violin, Brad Suppanz - Sax, David Brazil - Lead guitar, Steve Christian - Bass, Brian on Keys and his brother Kenneth on guitar and Lead Vocals. The album Time For One More Song was recorded
and the band performed around California and in the South. The cd was fairly successful and also included another friend of Bian's known in the Berkeley area as Little Bird with the track titled November Nights.
Brian also works with the band out of San Francisco called MIR. |
