Press Reviews
"We're not on the same wavelength" is the often repeated chorus of this CD's lead off track. A week later, I'm still humming it in my head.
Blasting off like a rocket and never stopping, "Wavelength" describes a twisted relationship where the only way the two characters see eye to eye is by walking away from the relationship.
The second track, "Heart and Heads" is a jangly acoustic rocket not unlike early REM. It's a slow builder, but the outro chorus will send chills down your spine. The closing track, "Awake to Sleep" borrows a brilliant line from Theodore Roethke's poem "The Waking" "I wake to sleep and i take my waking slow."
Sung over a Neil Young inspired grunge sound, Awake to Sleep's lyrics alone are worth a listen.
