Press Reviews
RedStorm is one of the most refreshing groups I've heard in a while! His music is like a hybrid of the forefathers of techno, like Kraftwerk, pop idols of the 80's, like Duran Duran, and more recent Erasure or Midi Rain. The style of the tracks vary quite a bit, from tracks that could only be described as 4/4disco, complete with the octave bassline riff, to totally tripped out tracks using bizarre vocal tricks I haven't even ever heard before. One song in particular, entitled 'Space', totally rips - a solid 9.5 on my scale! A straight ahead 4/4 beat, but with really wild pitch bent vocals, and nice light piano and string sounds. While all of the songs tend to have a minimalistic feel, it's more by the choices of sounds and EQ'ing, than by the more common lack of any real content; one of the few times I have felt that a minimalistic approach really worked |
