Artist History
Red Planet was formed when the stars of Orion and the moons of Mars colided, forming a Rock n' Roll band of unstoppable proportions with Founder John Mello running the helm, and after spending 4 long months in the caves of this new world, our heros find themselves in need of believers and new places to play there alien style of communication. Shore they may seem human enough, but look closely and you will learn the trueth. |

Press Reviews
Red Planet is a relatively new band in this little scene of ours (Boston, MA)who list among there influences Buffalo Tom, Sugar, Joe Jackson, The Who and Tool. While I don't hear the latter two on this disc, Red Planet serves up eight songs of guitar driven pop, pure and simple. "Cool" is very reminiscent of Monster-era REM, with a very catchy chorus melody. Other standout songs include the Ramones-meets-Meatloaf rocker "Selfish," the sensitive college band ballad "End this way" and the irresistably hooky "Safety Harness."

Red Planet cranks up the volume on this well-played hard rockin' disc. Although the title would suggest that there may be a hint of blues here, think again. Red Planet is a fiery band of rockers that find the combination of a Marshal amp and Les Paul just fine and dandy...thank you.
Singer John Mello, guitarist Don Woodward, bassist Ellis Telford, and Drummer Jorge Muldanado rock with firece abandon on Astronaut Blues making them a band to be reckoned with. Awesome songwriting, a tight performance and chilling muscian ship is synonmous with Red Planet, a band destined for great things!
