Artist description
A fixture on the NYC music scene since 1993, Native has earned
a strong reputation in the area as a permiere "Jamband". Native
had a loyal following who enjoyed them at their home, NYC's
infamous club, The Wetlands Preserve Eco-Saloon. Native is currently
recording a new double CD. This recording exemplifies Native's
songwriting ability and musicianship. Native is a six piece, consisting
of vocal harmonies, a driving, funky rhythm section, keyboards, and blistering
guitar. |

Artist History
Native grew out of the friendship between British
expatriot and would be actor Mat Hutt and drummer
Dave Thomas who met while working at an area hotel.
The pair recruited guitarist Mike Jaimes and Bassist
Matt Lyons. The foursome imediately began writing and
rehearsing. Soon percusionist John Wood heard the results
and came on board. Native's personnel roster was
completed by keyboardist Chris Wyckoff. |

Press Reviews
"..they have developed into one of the region's
more explosive live acts. Their shows are filled
with extended improvisational journeys that are
highlighted by the guitar playing of Mike Jaimes.
Native comes into town having just recorded their
third album "Exhale on Spring Street." The bands
musicianship resounds throughout this excellent
new recording and it could end up breaking the
band beyond their northeast stomping grounds
and onto the national stage."
