Artist description
Our music has been described as "a hard rockin',
funky, jazz/blues infused mix of Post-Alternative
Modern Rock " and, "a well-oiled machine that knows
how to deliver a great song." OK, to put it another
way...MoG's sound is a hard-edged Toad The Wet Sprocket,
Dave Matthews with an attitude, and they definitely
stab westward!
And, MoG has a secret weapon...MoG features a patented,
hybrid of an electric guitar and violin called The
Viotar(tm) which, according to one reviewer is alone
"worth the price of admission"! It's also been described
as "swooping and diving with the agility of an exotic,
electronic bird!" "A violin on steroids!" and "a
baseball bat with strings!"
MõG: a shape shifter; a spiritual warrior who can
change shape from human to animal form; a shaman;
a haunting vision. MõG (rhymes with rogue) signifies
movement and growth, the only constant for this band.
The unique songs of MõG differ from the mainstream
yet fit in seamlessly with songs that are upbeat,
exciting and ever changing. Both live and on CD,
MõG grabs your attention and holds on to it with
catchy hooks, strong rhythms and dynamic performances.

Artist History
Boston based, MõG is Kristen Bruno, vocals/percussion;
Bob Schlink, Viotar tm/12 string guitar/vocals;
Rob Schlink, electric and acoustic guitar;
Alvaro Benevedes, bass; and Pablo Bencid, drums.
MõG is comprised of accomplished "musician's musicians."
As Bob Pare of Instant Magazine enthuses, "To say
these guys could play is to say, yeah, Rembrandt
could paint."
Incredibly, Bob Schlink, holds a patent for the
Viotar tm, a cross between an electric guitar and
a violin. This unique 40-fret instrument is played
with a bow and according to one rapturous review,
"swoops and dives with the agility of an exotic,
electronic bird." Schlink, a professor at the
prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston,
is an extraordinary musician who invented the
Viotar tm on a whim. While listening to classical
music one afternoon, he decided that he wanted to
add a violin-like sound to his music without
having to learn a new instrument. He was able to
modify an electric guitar to achieve this goal.
No other instrument sounds or looks quite like
the Viotar tm ! Bob has appeared on British TV
talk/information shows including the BBC with the
Viotar tm.
During the fall of 1996, MõG played an exciting
week of packed showcases in Los Angeles and gained
the respect of the press, the music industry and
the public. Their appearance at the sold out
LA Music Awards, held at the world-famous Roxy on
Sunset Boulevard, resulted in MõG walking away
with the Award for BEST NATIONAL ACT !
