Artist History
Born and raised in Miami, Florida and rapping on and off, since the fifth grade. Robert Smith aka Dah Taskmaster's love affair with eMCing began when he realized that he wouldn't be able to breakdance forever. Originally known as KING KOOL, he was a charter member of the now defunct S.T.Y.L.E. (Superior To You Little Errors). After STYLE broke-up in 1987, King Kool sprung into the Miami battle scence, claiming numerous victims. In or around 1990 King Kool wrote 'Voice of a Blackman' which would be his last polished rhyme for the next seven years...then one day in early 1997 after moving to Daytona Beach and finally Orlando Florida to attend college, he stumbled upon a website called 'Homegrown Hip-Hop Zone' which gave him the chance to battle eMCeez all across the world....that is when Dah Taskmaster was born...excited, Dah Taskmaster focused all of his creative energy toward battle rhyming (dissin' other rappers). After going head up with two of the best battle eMCeez on earth, Deacon The Villian and Breez Eva Flowin'..Dah Taskmaster decided it was time to extend his abilities beyond the battle arena. This is when he attempted to forge alliances with other local eMCees, to no avail. Local Orlando eMCees like Hemys the XP, Mix Xcel, the Warheadz and others, seemed unwilling to work with the firey Taskmaster. Not understanding why the local eMCees didn't accept him among thier ranks, Taskmaster began writing page after page of venting his frustration with the local hip-hop scene in Orlando....This is when Dah Taskmaster was struck with the idea that would forever change the sound of hip-hop...D a h T o w e r (www.mp3.com/dahtower) ...enuff about the artist ,a little about the man. Throughout his life Robert has worked as a Telemarketer,A Computer Technician, Student Director for a Diversity program at UCF (I miss you DDC), A Tutor for the kids at a Boys & Girls Club, A door-2-door salesman, a Stapler remover and a Computer salesman. A lot of people who Robert has looked up to in throughout his 25 years of life have let him down with their inperfections. Things like adultry, crack addiction, hearlessness, cowardness, lack of the ability to and resolve important issues and a misrepresentation of character and some other unmentionables are what drives Robert to achieve perfection thru life. Robert believes in God but does not attend Church regularly but attends his prays constantly. Robert believes that most people are dumb, in that we as a society in the US are easily confused and/or decieved. On the issue of women, Robert say that far too many women arn't in control of life, especially Black women. And as of this writing Robert says that Black many many black women are, " full of shit. " ....Ewww....Politics, Robert believes in many of the Democrats causes Social Securuty, High Taxes,A Big Federal Government, Increased Gun Control & some others but oddly enough he is a registed Republican?!?!?!?! Currently single, Robert says that he is a lonely man inside and and is in need of companionship but again, many many Black women are " full of shit " making finding fertal ground nearly impossible....In the area of sports, Robert used to play both Free Safety and Cournerback. One commenting, " Free Safety is for shit-eaters...real niggaz play Courner." His favorite basketball team is the Indiana Pacers and his favorite player is Travis Best (huh?) |
