Artist description
"The name Speed Limit 35 implies a gentle ride through the confines of city. The band Speed Limit 35 is anything but that. Darting in and out of genres like a hot rod changing lanes in a school zone, Speed Limit 35 can blaze through an instrumental rock scorcher like "Throb" one minute and lay down the mesmerizingly smooth vocal bliss of "Siren Song" the next. Steve Rabeler is the guitar mastermind behind riffs that can either pierce through your speakers with wizard's precision or lull you into haunting sways that will linger long after the melody has walked away. Mitch Gorman completes the musical onslaught with keyboard work that boldly goes from cutting to melodic. That's not all they play. They are both multi-instrumentalists who excel no matter what tool lies before them. Judilynn Niedercorn is the angel's voice that transforms the band's vocal tracks into a radio-friendly daydream. When she's on, Speed Limit 35 is the next rock vocals act gunning at stardom. When she takes a breather, the boys just flat out jam. Speed up. Slow down. What's the deal with the Speed Limit 35 moniker? Maybe, just maybe, it's a sign to press down on the brake pedal and take the time to check out this promising trio. You'll be glad you did as you drive away refueled." --Rick Munarriz ( http://www.liquidstereo.com/ ) |

Artist History
Speed Limit 35 was formed during the summer of 1997. Mitch and Steve met at work, and discovered they both owned and loved Saab automobiles. Steve had not been jamming with anyone for some time, and out of boredom frequently found himself sitting in front of his TV, accompanying the music of programs and commercials. Mitch had decided he needed a new hobby to occupy his time besides Star Wars computer games. Discussions of cars turned to discussions of guitars, Steve bought a new four-track mini-disc recorder, Mitch picked up a new acoustic guitar and a synthesizer, singer-songwriter Judilynn joined up, and they've been making music history ever since! |
