Press Reviews
Review of Dark Nebulae (Live) by Stefan Koopmanschap:a very tense start, with something that might be described as rhythms by people not into this kind of music. 'cause it's not a rhythm, no ... it's something that release builds the tension. together with dark sounds, this is really something special. something to close your eyes, and something that can suck you into itself in no time. then, when the ticking stops, you fall into total oblivion. slowly, the atmosphere, for that is what this is, evolves into something powerful and dark. something you don't know what to expect around the next corner, if there even is a corner. this is territory unknown to mankind. colin (RE) is going beyond this boundary. he describes with this atmosphere, places where no human being has ever gone before. it's a special place. serene, yet dark. you don't know what you can expect of it. the whole atmosphere could collapse every minute. some weird monster might come right at you every moment. it's scary to even be here. there is a rare beauty in this track that I have not seen a lot before. it's something a lot of ambient artists don't get. it's tension. I've seen it with artists like the [law-rah] collective, (((stereofect))) and TearSong, and a few others. but this kind of beauty is rare. cherish it. |
