Artist History
Music has been an integral part of my life for as long as I remember. As a child, playing the piano has been a good excuse for not washing the dishes ("Mom, I can't can't wet my hands right after practice!"). As a teenager, it was a good way of being unique from others. It perked up my extra-curricular activities in school and all that. In the beginning, I composed music and gave them to friends on special occassions. With the full moral support of my parents, I went to college to pursue a piano career. I joined a choir (University of the Philippines Concert Chorus) and got discovered as an arranger by the late Rey T. Paguio, my 'acquired' father who passed away last year. With the chorus, I got to travel around the world a lot, arranged choral pieces one after the other, sometimes composing songs and musicals, until I realized that it was too late for me to even think of another career. I'm stuck with my passion and enjoying every moment of it. In early 1999, I discovered mp3.com, and I've always been meaning to sign-in, but I didn't have the guts to do it until August of 2000. The turn out was so different from what I have expected and feared. It seems like another story of my life is unfolding... My childhood was spent mostly swimming in the murky waters of the river in my quaint, little hometown in Northern Philippines. Now, I live in Manila, spending most of my time on keyboards and computers. What a huge leap that has been!Music is my life and it will be so until my death. |
