Artist description
Electronic/Progressive Rock music with Celtic overtones that takes your mind and emotions on a journey. This is music that brings to mind images of other worlds and other times. The "band" consists mainly of one person, lots of equipment and an imagination that's scary at times (several of Steve's reincarnational personalities lend their talents when available). |

Artist History
Steve Gordon played in cover bands for almost 10 years before moving to New York City in 1986 and trying his hand at writing and recording his own personal style of music. Gathering inspiration from nature, the electric pace of life in New York City, and an overactive imagination, he began experimenting with various musical styles before deciding what he wanted to be when he grew up musically. The name "nailed god" comes from a book by A.A. Atanasio called "The Dragon and the Unicorn." The story is the first book in a series of books retelling the King Arthur legend with a more metaphysical slant. The queen of the Celts (who worshipped many gods of the elements) refered to the "new god" that everyone is raving about (Jesus Christ) as "the nailed god" because she at first denounces his credibility as a valid god. I really liked the sound of the phrase and thought it would be a great band name. Being part Scott, I feel very close to the Celtic traditions and sensibilities, and it seems like a lot of the more restrained pieces of music that I write have some Celtic elements in them. |

Press Reviews
"[Chase, After the Storm] Excellent! I've never heard anything like it. Check out the rest of these works. Nailed god creates a satisfying arrangement of middle aged-like melodies with that of modern experimentation. Keep an eye out (and an ear) for more enchanting works." --Imagination Trip Radio"[5-4 Works] There are very few pieces in 5/4 time. This is a wonderful addition to that small club. This has a good sound quality and a very appealing melodic line. And to think - it's all done by one man. Wow!" --Shawn's Top Ten Picks of the Week, week of July 24, 2000 |
