Press Reviews
The musicians have excelled in their contribution to the final product. The slide work and dobro playing of Michele Rose is outstanding, Andrew Clermont confirms his standing as one of Australia's finest acoustic session musicians on fiddle, mandolin, and guitar and Gant's regular backing group, The 'Smokin Crawdads' provide an excellent nucleus for the album's final sound. PRESS RELEASE: "Interesting" would have to be the musical understatement of the year! "Under the Southern Cross" combines elements of country, bluegrass, folk and blues under the mantle of PURE AUSTRALIAN.In many ways this is a unique album. The linking of a strong and distinctive vocal delivery with superb backings build a sense of anticipation throughout the album, and leaves the listener wanting more. |
