Artist description
An exploration - experimentation - juxtaposition: consisting of sonic shapes, atonal textures, and echoing soundscapes transformed that often in our daily life we ignore or disregard. This is the continuous conversation about you. Heard from the other room through the walls. Thease are the voices you hear, confronting you with each echo in the great depths of your subconsicious as you drift in and out of your waking state, the sounds you once disregarded and set aside brought before you to transform, shape, and induce..........Listen Closely. |

Artist History
Through trying to find the hidden voices trapped in the paintings of Joan Miro that spoke to me from the walls surrounding me as I was a child, inevitably I began treading this soil. My inspiration came from everything that never took the form of sound, invisible soundscapes that I heard transforming the average and unsuspicious sound into a broken orchestra performing the scores in the depths of the night. The greatest direct influence upon my work is words and there many rythmic possibilites.......those of Plath, Sexton, Rimbaud, Malarme, Roussel, Eluard, Peret, Tzara, and Valery who I adore reading late at night out loud. There is no artistic backround to CathedralEngine, aside from when I was a child the fragile little fingers that played scales and read notes took the shape of fists playing clusters and across from the piano embedded within the paintings where thease sounds lived.....this is one of the many channels for them to find their way out. |
