Artist description
Three piece (Drums, Bass, Guitar) with two vocals. The band creates hyperactive, high-energy pop, with a punk edge. But don't let that fool you, they're skilled musicians who aren't afraid to delve into something different. Bits of Jazz, R&B, and Glam all find their place within the diverse BJG catalogue. Artist History
Formed in summer of '93 out of the ashes of Real. (a Philly band with Mark Talbot on bass, Mark and Austin). When Talbot left to pursue his dream of being an FBI agent (no joke), Mark and Austin approached Bobby to fill in the gap. After jamming for 15 minutes at their rehearsal space near the waterfront, the new band was complete. Over the next few years, they played hundreds of shows from basements, to clubs, to 1000+ venues opening for national acts. They recorded and released their first album in '95, and followed it up with several single and comp releases before signing to indie Childlike records in '99. Tigrebeat, their most ambitious title, was a grueling studio project of 18 songs. 13 made the final cut, 4 made the limited edition EP, and 1 made a showing on the NBU comp of '99. Currently, they play sporadically, but their songs have recently made an appearance on the Discovery Channel as the music on Outward Bound. |
