Artist History
Currenlty centered in the Inland Empire of L.A., these five artists got to know each other through freestyling at parties and open mic events in the area. In the spring of 97, Woes and T.T.C. (aka Sublime) started to distract super-producer/M.C./DJ Chikara from his college studies (and from learning proper English) in order to put together the first B-Boy Genre tracks. Eventually, the El Salvadorian Sultan of Scratch, SUPERBRUSH, and Sea-Town Swinger, BRAIN, joined the group. From then on, the quintet began to build up the best live Hip-Hop show in their area. Their dedication led them to many radio and stage shows, including opening up for such luminaries as Aceyalone, Hieroglyphics, and The Roots. With a year under their belt as a furious five, B-Boy Genre are preparing for their UKENJAM debut by doing what they do best: rockin shows. So be on the lookout for them appearing in your town, on your favorite radio station, or in front of your house beat-boxin. |
