Artist History
The band was formed in 1995 and their biggest influence is Dream Theater. They're also influenced by bands such as Fates Warning, Symphony X, Kansas,Marillion, Queensryche and Gorky Park to name a few. The album "Black Day"was independentlyreleased on music cassette under the name "Cherniy Den" ("The Black Day") inFebruary 1998 by the band themselves. That release got recognition fromBrian Hirsch at Moonchild Records who now have re-mastered the poorlyproduced recording for a future CD re-release. The original recordings weremade in a cheap studio in Russia. This re-mastered CD has a better sound than the originalmusic cassette. Definitely worth checking out! |

Press Reviews
This is real great one ! The russian band AZAZELLO plays mind-tinglingprogrock covering the wide rang between neoprog, crimson-alike prog, symphonic rock, weird progrock, fusion, jazz, soft progmetal, acoustic parts(like Anthony Phillips) and psychedelic rock. This band is the best russianact ever to reach my ears. All listeners AND labels who are looking for aunusual band from an "not-everyday-prog"-country must check out AZAZELLO!!!! 7 points .Markus Weiss DURP Die Ultimate Rock Page |
