Artist description
Zoe Wood, a native of Montana, packs ten years of performing experience into her songwriting and guitar style of acoustic slide blues, jazz, and folk. She has shared the stage with such notables as Utah Phillips, Charlie Musselwhite, and Susan Tedeschi. She has performed throughout the Northwest as a solo act as well as a member of various bands ranging from traditional Irish to rock, blues, and swing. Zoe also delights in straying from the path of the acoustic artist into the realm of humor, with original comedy and songs from her days as a fan of the Dr. Dementoshow. Combined with her strong vocals and intricate guitar work, her broad variety of musical styles and textures bring together an entertainment experience that swings from the soft romantic to the rowdy ribald. |

Artist History
"Send Me to Glory in a Glad Bag" is the song, Lisle Wood is the person; both are responsible for Zoe Wood's first three guitar chords. She fell in love with the guitar at the age of fourteen at a gathering of musicians collectively known as the Part-Time Band. Fingerstyle folk was the first genre she studied, and worked into her first band, the Butte Montana based trio Dublin Gulch, performing traditional acoustic Irish music. Zoe continued to perform guitar and vocals with a wide variety of musical projects, including the Sonic Rangers, Blue Solution, and Celestial Buckshot, incorporating classic rock, jump blues, acoustic slide and country blues, Western swing, fingerstyle jazz, and folk-rock. She is currently a member of the Missoula based women's trio The Hot Tamales, and fronts her own trio, Zoe's Garden. She also continues to perform solo, emphasizing original material and crazy Dr. Demento style humor. |
