Artist description
We are a group of musicians from diverse Christian traditions as well as different cultural backgrounds. God has been extremely faithful in bringing us together with a vision to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through our music abilities and gifts. Our style of music is quite mixed and varies according to each song. We have put together a number of performance oriented songs that deal with an individual's faith journey as well as many contemporary Christian worship songs. We know and believe that God will use these songs to touch, convict and transform many individuals. |

Artist History
On November 27th, 28th, 29th, of 1998 we performed for the first time in order to rise funds for our first CD, "The Journey." Each night was at a different location in the city of Toronto, in order to expose our ministry and music to different people. (Matthew) "Eclectic" was the most common word used by the audience to define the sound of the band after the concerts. However it really consisted of progressive rock pieces, such as "Lord's Prayer," "Are You Ready" and "The Lord's Love," surrounded by (light) hard rocks: "Jesus, Lamb of God," "Resting in Him," and delicately constructed ballads: "Faithful," "Rain Down On Us." Press Reviews
"V.I.W. stands for VOICES IN THE WILDERNESS and this Christian Pop/Rock band sent me a copy of their CD 'The journey' which can more be seen as a demo CD, because they are still adding some musical arrangements to the songs. However, the CD gave me a good idea of what this band is all about. Despite some rockers, this band is focusing on soft pop based acoustic songs. Most of the songs are not really sensational and sound a bit too much like a praise/gospel band. The few rockers that are present on 'The journey' are definitely the best songs, such as "I will sing", a great uptempo rocker a la PETRA. And the first two songs ("Are you ready?" and "Lamb of God") are also nice semi rockers. The remaining 6 songs are very 'pop' orientated with many acoustic guitars and soft sounds." (Strutter'zine) |
