Artist History
Pegg Legg Jhonne started rapping at the ripe age of 12. He lived in the streets of Milwaukee, and became a street performer during the early 80's. He was discovered by Mohammed Crackenbaum of Ghetto 4 Life records during the summer of 1984. Two years later, he released his debut album "Try Me, Beyotch!" under the surname Pimpin' Stevie Jones. The single, "Your Ass is Mine (Mine)" peaked at number #243 on the Billboard R&B charts. Undaunted by this defeat, Pegg Legg went on a successful cross-country tour of elementary schools and Motel 6's. Pegg Legg was on top of the world, and was living the high life, until one fateful day: August 23rd, 1987. In a drunken stooper, Pegg Legg fell down his stairwell and rolled out the window of his 30th floor penthouse apartment in New York City. The doctors saved his life, but couldn't save his leg. Pegg Legg Jhonne went into a deep 9-year depression, and lived in a cloud of narcotics, he especially enjoyed heroine. This is when old time friend/collaborator Icepick stopped by after his 6-year tour of Latin America. He renewed Pegg Legg's interest in the ever evolving rap scene, and persuaded him to get into the studio and release a new album. With the help of Icepick, Pegg Legg Jhonne has just finished recording and has released his first single in 14 years: On Patrol (Watch Your Back). |
