Artist History
"Whyte" the band, is a culmination of many years work and the result of a short term goal achieved. The first release, "Strangers have best Candy v/1.1", is intended to be an audio quarterly with new songs being added as they reach the presentable benchmark. Recording on a housebound Pro Tools 5.0 rig, Whyte is able to take its audio work to any major studio that matters. The band is completely focused on being able to take full advantage of that very opportunity.Russ Whyte is a Saskatchewan Pop rock artist that has worked with his local peers and complete strangers in foreign lands (long story, later) to lyrically create an overview of his life and views with musical influence from a choice group of long time colaborators. He is admittedly possessed with the desire to release a product that reflects the best effort possible. The result is a side career as a producer/engineer in audio post.Through fate and dedication to music, the remaining band members all work in the audio industry keeping in regular "day job" contact with each other. The mid-level goal for this band is simple; video, A & R deal,.. happiness :} |

Group Members
Al Sherbin is widely regarded as a rock solid drummer from years spent playing with his brother Harry in notable bands such as Vancouver's "Peace Love Dog" and "Quest Haven" in which one incarnation saw Russ playing bass with Al for several road-weary years. Todd Barlow now holds down the bass position with a underlying passion for vintage 80's and new metal music. Dave Taylor is an ex-Vancouver Alterna-Rock alumna who rounds out the fold assuming much of the guitar, vocal and production duties Russ had to provide inclusive previously. |
