Artist description
Rock 'n Roll explosion from Canada, backed by a solid sax attack, and beats from the Middle East, come at you full force in this debut 10" EP/CD. Gathering a variety of styles from the New Bomb Turks to Rocket From The Crypt, and passing through such greats as Link Wray and Al Perry, Rock 'n' Roll Enemy #1 is an album guaranteed not to leave your turntable anytime soon. The 6 Rebels bring up a solid mix of Rock 'n Roll and Punk Rock to their dead city of Ottawa. Look for new releases in Summer 2000 and early fall. |

Artist History
From their first incarnations as The Catholic Schoolboys + The Runs, The Dead City Rebels officially formed in early 1997, bringing Punk Rawk 'n Roll to a town offering no more than a couple of house parties to play at. After their first break at the Dominion Tavern (thanks guys), opening for local heroes Resin Scraper (thanks Johnny Feck), the 6-piece recorded their first album in Montreal for international release. After the departure of Austin "The Original American Dream" on lead guitar, and a slight lineup change, the Rebels played consistently in Ottawa and Montreal, adopting an attitude of frequent shows and recording. Although none of them plan on quitting their day jobs in the event of the inevitable European tour, they remain dedicated in their performances and consistent in recording good quality Rock 'n Roll. Other releases featuring the Rebels include the Flattery CD comp, as well as several 7" records available on High Society International. Upcoming releases include a full-length CD on Man's Ruin Records, a 7" single from She's Gone Records, and a split-single with Resin Scraper. |
