Artist description
It's been almost 4 years since Kringe opened up shop in Atlanta, the new LA. Home of Shawn Mullins, Collective Soul,Marvelous 3, The Black Crowes, and many, many others. Atlanta has been at the center of the new music revalution over thelast few years with mainstream artists pouring out of its city limits. Kringe is just another New Rock/Alternative band treadingthe path of so many before them.Kringe started in May of 1997 in a suburb just outside Atlanta. Jonathan Simpson and Jeremy Olmen were both avid guitarplayers and spent much time together while everyday nurturing the idea of starting a band and acting on their dreams. Themonth of May brought Jonathan's brother, Chris Simpson, and Shawn Diaz to the forefront of the idea. One night spent playingtogether and there was no doubt about it, Kringe had become a reality.During the 2 years after the forming of the band, Kringe played many major venues in the Atlanta scene from reltively smallcoffee houses to enormous trade centers in front of as many as 2500 people. Playing a mixture of covers and original music,Kringe decided it was time to get in the studio and start writing and recording their debut album.Kringe came out of Crash, Bang, Waloop! Studios three songs later and much poorer. Running quickly out of material Kringeneeded more original music. Even worse, their bass player, Chris Simpson, had retired from the band into the Air ForceAcademy. Leaving it up to Jeremy to find a replacement, Jonthan toured the country for the next 6 months writing the albummeeting with Jeremy only once in Los Angeles to review the music. During that time period, Jeremy and Shawn took on MikeFrohock as the new bass player for Kringe.Six months later, Jeremy Olmen quit the band. The former frontman gave up on his dreams for a more conventional, steady job.Kringe continued playing and learning the songs regardless of their loss and Jonathan (who sang backup all along) took thefront of the stage singing for the band. With all the material they needed, a new bass player, and a new touring guitar player,Kringe was finally ready to record the album.Present day...Next week will begin the recording process for the (of now untitled) debut Kringe album. After it has been properly recorded, mixed, and mastered the plan for replication and distribution will take place. The album will be fairly diverse, consisting of heavypop songs such as "Alone" and "Obsession girl" yet also the shattering guitar sounds of "Bungle" and "Live YourLife". The acoustic sounds of "Wrong" even the record out nicely. After it is recorded, fans can pick up autographedcopies at shows, or buy it online off the website. If you live in Atlanta, one of the many CD Warehouse stores will also bescheduled to carry it. |
