Artist description
Powerful trio-gone-foresome from the early 80's. Music that has been referred to as "WAY ahead of it's time" by many of the locals from the LA band scene. A mixture of Styx, Boston, Rush, with a dab of Kansas-complexity, this band rocked the college town of San Bernardino, CA. from 1981-1985, then vanished like a fart in a hurricane. |

Artist History
In 1981, Evan began this project mainly to just goof around and play some of the music he had composed while pulling duty at a local San Bernardino Fire Station. Joining forces with Donnie and Robert, the three had a beautiful little power-trio going. They played a few parties and got massive attention on the local scene. The day came when the three wanted to expand into vocals and synths. In late 1982, Donnie mentioned this guy from high school, John, a singer/songwriter/pianist, and called him up. The rest, as you say, is history! Now a powerful foresome, John brought not only vocals, but lyrics and a fat and sassy synth fill to the team. Together, the four Kavaliers rousted many fans, played numerous live shows out at the Kendall Ranch, and earned the respect of many other local bands who tried to immitate, none could reproduce.Never was there a very good quality recording made, because this group of talented musicians disbanded long before technology was affordable. So here you'll find some old Boom-Box recordings, enhanced as musch as possible (but still sound like Real Audio Crap!), but you may get the idea. Donnie joined the Army, Robert left to pursue a career with NRG as their percussionist, and John left to be the singer/keyboardist for Visions. What happened to Evan? He went solo, and wrote more powerful, beautiful tunes.Stay tuned though... nearly 15 years after their last performance together, there is rumor of a reunion - at least to make a decent recording... |
