    Artist description
The Jon Finn Group plays Progressive Instrumental Rock. Not the overblown "Look what I can do/chops for their own sake" brand, but an exciting blend of great songs, an exhilerating live show and world class musicianship. Quite simply, they don't need singing. Since 1988, the band has played many of New England's top concert venues, more recently delving into the national and international touring circuits.

    Artist History
A guitarist since age six, Jon is the principle writer for the band. While his instrumental prowess has brought him world wide acclaim, his vision continues to focus on the songs. Since 1988 Jon has been the most in-demand rock guitar teacher at Berklee College of Music in Boston. For the past three years Jon has been writing a popular monthly instructional feature for Guitar Magazine. Jon has also authored "Advanced Modern Rock Guitar Improvisation" for Mel Bay publications; a ground breaking book exploring uncharted territory in rock guitar education. In his freelance pursuits, he's played guitar and keyboards for the first national touring production of “Rent”, performed and recorded with the Boston Pops Orchestra, and has been involved in a plethora of concerts and recording sessions.
