    Press Reviews
Dophesus' Magic by: Mike Breen One of the more interesting bands to emerge on the local music scene is the up-and-coming trio Dophesus. The band -Dave Cupp (guitar/vocals), Ezra Waller (drums/vocals) and Tom Smith (bass) - recently released a new CD titled Little Magic Snowman. The trio's sound is an eclectic and inventive one, meshing influences from Pink Floyd to Miles Davis to The Minutemen for a truly unique sound. Imagine if Frank Zappa or Charles Mingus was born in the '70s and brought up with a desire to play Post-Punk. The group also displays an almost Free Jazz-like approach to composition, allowing the songs to develop in an almost improvlike manner. At the same time, the arrangements are often very intricate, more befitting a Prog Rock band. Dophesus play some of the most unique music around right now.
